No. The martingale is limited slip: it tightens just enough to stop a backward escape and no further. The 5.5 cm wide band spreads pressure across a delicate neck and the backing is padded.

Can I clip a lead to it?

Yes, it has metal rings for the lead. Never attach a car restraint or a tether to it though: use a harness for those.

Will the color fade?

The face is woven jacquard ribbon, so the color is in the weave rather than printed on top and holds instead of fading. Nine colors, from silver and gold to burgundy and army green.
