Which size fits a 3 kg Chihuahua?

The M. It fits a 31 cm back and a 30 cm chest and is made for 2.5 to 3.5 kg dogs. Measure the back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail first, and if your dog lands between two sizes, take the larger one.

Will it fit a dog over 6 kg?

No. The XL is the largest size, with a 44 cm back and a 37 cm chest for 5 to 6 kg dogs like a Toy Poodle or Shih Tzu. For a bigger dog, the Cable-Knit Turtleneck Sweater for Dogs and Cats runs up to 31.8 kg.

How do I measure my dog for it?

Two measurements: back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, and chest girth at the widest point. Match both to the chart. The S is a 27 cm back and 24 cm chest, the L a 41 cm back and 34 cm chest.
