Which bed is right for my dog's breed?
The right bed comes down to size, sleeping style, and a little bit of breed know-how. Here is how to choose with confidence.
Start with weight, not guesswork
Measure your dog from nose to tail and add about 12 inches, then match that to the bed size. Our size finder on every bed page does the math for you from your dog's weight.
Match the bed to how they sleep
- Curlers love round or bolster beds with edges to nuzzle into.
- Sprawlers like Labs and Goldens need a flat, roomy mattress to stretch out.
- Burrowers like Dachshunds adore cave or hooded beds they can dig into.
Think about age and joints
Older dogs and big breeds do best on orthopedic memory foam that supports the joints. Puppies are easier on a washable, chew friendly bed while they learn the house rules.
